shop windo w - vienna - summer 2010
perhaps my favourite picture i ever took. so much going on here. would love to see a toy story style movie of this lot. never did find out what the shop actually sold as behind the toys there was curtains and darkness and it looked far too frightening to set foot in the place. i regret it now though as the thought nags at me. does it sell more of these odd animal dolls - the sheep with the woollen jumper (surely that’s like me wearing a jacket made from human hair) and the big workman’s boots is a particular favourite of mine - or is it something entirely different? the gate way to another dimension where all of what you see here is actually happening right now and the big crow/pelican/penguin thing is reading that beatrix potter book to them all. their mad googly eyes staring up in wonder as the story unfolds.
could just be a toy shop though, eh?
